The first digital consultation will involve mapping your headache.
We will have a conversation and find out what your goals are for the follow-up.
Some people only want to find the cause of the headache and a diagnosis, others also want treatment and preventive measures.
We will try to achieve as much as possible during the first consultation, including making a plan for further follow-up.
It may be necessary to establish a dialog with your GP, neurologist or X-ray institute to make the best possible plan, of course with your consent.
If not already done, it will usually also be necessary to start a headache diary, as it can be crucial for making the right diagnosis and tailoring further treatment.
If a physical examination has not already been carried out for your headache, or it is likely that important elements are missing, a physical examination will be necessary. As a general rule, a physical examination, blood tests and/or MRI examination are essential to ensure a correct diagnosis and rule out other causes.
In that case, we will be able to establish contact with your GP, your local hospital or X-ray institute.
If we agree on further follow-up, it can also take place digitally.
This is particularly relevant for those who live far away from our clinic, but also others who find it convenient to do the consultation digitally at home or at work.
The exception is those who need closer follow-up with tailored exercises and manual treatment measures, or if you have a headache diagnosis that requires regular physical examinations.
